King Size Canopy BedYou Have To Love A King Size Canopy Bed If you want to make a statement in your bedroom then you need a king size canopy bed. So what if it takes up the whole area, it’s worth it. The idea of waking up every morning in something as wonderful as a canopy bed is so appealing. I only truly discovered how luxurious these felt when I was staying in Africa. The only piece of furniture in the room was a chest of drawers and this large canopy bed. At first it seemed over the top, but at the end of the holiday when returning home to a ‘normal’ king sized bed, it felt like a disappointment. There are several different types of king size canopy bed. The first is the traditional wooden frame. These look lovely, but if space is an issue they do have quite a heavy look to them which can make the room around them seem even smaller. If you have a large space then they are certainly worth considering. There are many different styles, from the plain panelled wood to the intricately engraved patterns of European kings and queens. If you are looking for something which has a slightly light and airy feel to it then you should definitely consider the metal frames. These can be either intricate scroll designs so they can be very stylised with simple but striking metal frames. If you are going for a simple look you can have much more fun with the fabrics. Often people try to over coordinate a bedroom. If you have a piece of furniture as spectacular as a king size canopy bed, then you can pretty much do what you like. One thing that does seem to work wonderfully is to have the room decorated very simply and the fabric from the top of the bed to be white or off white, but very light, then to fill the bed with colour from the bedding. Have rich colourful duvet covers and plenty of cushions to finish off the effect. Whatever you choose you can be sure that you will never regret investing in a king size canopy bed. Do however; remember to allocate enough money from your budget to get a good quality mattress. There would be nothing worse than sleeping in the most wonderful bed design and having a bad night’s sleep because you skimped on the mattress. |
